Let me clarify. bada supports Flash Lite 3.1 only, Not Flash. However, Flash Lite 3.1 is basically Flash 9 + ActionScript 2.0 so it does play back lots of Flash content, hence the confusion. So, to summarize, the browser supports FL 3.1 plugin (sites like youtube and FLV work, albeit a bit slowly. Newer video seem to be using Flash 10, so some don't), bada Flash control supports FL3.1. bada Web control, however, does not support FL 3.1 plugin, at this time.

Hope this helps.

Danny from London devday

Ciao Aaron,

that you can view flash content on a site it's not a indication that you have full Flash. As I told you Flash Lite 3.1 correspond to Flash 9 version, hence version 9.x.x. You will probably see You Tube too !

Also, there is no way they will have Flash Lite 3.1 as standalone and Flash 9 for the browser.
I have been looking at the bada SDK and it has Flash Lite 3.1, not full Flash. So what you are seeing it's Flash Lite 3.1 rendering of Flash web content.

Alessandro

The latest flashlite is not anywhere near as inhibited as people think and will run most flash content. What does playerversion.com report it as? Flash player numbers are very squiffy on mobile.

Alessandro,

I assure you it runs the full Flash Player in the browser. I can view websites like 2advanced.com. Thanks for the comment.

Aaron

Ciao Aaron,

how did you get the version? My guess is that it's Flash Lite 3.1 in the browser which gives version 9.x.
I was not sure if the browser supported Flash Lite but from what you are saying it does.
By the way, you can do more then UI with Flash Lite 3.1, apps, games and so on with integration with native APIs.

Alessandro

Alessandro,

I own and use a Samsung Wave with Bada installed. I was given the phone at the Bada Developers Day just yesterday. The phone has Flash Player plugin 9.1.1 installed which allows me to view Flash movies on the web. Flash Lite 3.1 is the runtime Bada uses for creating animated UI in native applications. Thanks for the comment.

All the best,
Aaron Franco
